Welcome to Photo EXIF Editor. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.

2. Data We Collect

Our app does not require a user login or account creation. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our own servers. However, the Google services described below collect some data automatically when you use the app.

Photo and EXIF Data

The app reads the metadata of the photos you pick from your device. It cannot see the rest of your photo library. All photo processing happens entirely on your device. No photo data, image files, or EXIF metadata is ever uploaded to any server. When you strip or copy metadata, the result is saved as a new photo in your device gallery. Your original photo is never modified.

Location in Your Photos

Photos can contain the GPS location where they were taken. On Android 10 and later, the app asks for the Access media location permission so it can read this location from the photos you pick. The app uses it to show the location, flag it as a privacy risk, remove it, or copy it to another photo. This location is used only on your device and is never uploaded. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

Analytics Data

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, such as app opens, screens visited, sessions, and feature usage. Analytics collects an app instance ID and your device’s Advertising ID, and derives an approximate location (such as your city or region) from your IP address. It never receives your photos or their metadata.

Crash Reporting Data

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports and diagnostic data when the app encounters an error. This may include device model, OS version, app state at the time of the crash, stack traces, and a random installation identifier. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your photos.

Advertising Data

The app uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. AdMob collects your device’s Advertising ID and other device identifiers, your IP address (which may be used to estimate your approximate location), your interactions with the app and ads (such as app launches and taps), and diagnostic information about app and ad performance. This data is shared with Google for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, and may be used to show you personalized ads. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads).

  • Photo and EXIF data are processed on your device only. No photo data is stored on our servers at any time.
  • Analytics data is managed by Google’s secure infrastructure and follows their retention policies.
  • Crash reporting data is kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
  • Ad-related data is managed by Google’s secure infrastructure and follows their retention policies.
  • All data sent to these Google services is encrypted in transit.

We do not operate any servers that store your data.

Our app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.
