Welcome to DailyNews. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.

2. Data We Collect

Our app does not require a user login or account creation. We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details, and we do not build a profile of you. The sections below describe the data that is processed when you use the app, including the data that the Google services we use collect automatically.

News Requests

To show you news, the app requests articles, categories and search results from the DailyNews server, which runs on Cloudflare. These requests contain the category you open and the words you search for. Like any request over the internet, they also carry your device’s IP address. Our server uses the IP address only briefly, to limit how many requests one device can make in a minute. Cloudflare keeps request logs for up to 7 days to operate and secure the service. These logs can include the requested address (which may contain your search words), the time of the request, and technical details such as the country derived from your IP address. We do not use these logs to identify you, and we do not link them to any other data.

Bookmarks, Reading History and Settings

Your bookmarks, the list of articles you have read, and your settings (such as theme and text size) are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our server. If backup is turned on for your device, Android may include them in your device backup to your Google Account, so they can be restored on a new phone. You can remove a bookmark at any time by swiping it away. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in your device settings, deletes all of this data.

News Publishers’ Websites and Images

Article images are loaded directly from the servers of the publishers that published them. When you open a full article, the app shows the publisher’s website inside the app. That website may set cookies and collect data under the publisher’s own privacy policy, which we do not control.

Sharing

When you share an article, the app passes the article’s link to the app you choose. We do not see what you share.

Analytics Data

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, such as app opens, screens visited, sessions, and feature usage. Analytics collects an app instance ID and your device’s Advertising ID, and derives an approximate location (such as your city or region) from your IP address. It does not receive your searches, your bookmarks, or the articles you read.

Crash Reporting Data

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports and diagnostic data when the app encounters an error. This may include device model, OS version, app state at the time of the crash, stack traces, and a random installation identifier. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your searches, your bookmarks, or your reading history.

Advertising Data

The app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob collects your device’s Advertising ID and other device identifiers, your IP address (which may be used to estimate your approximate location), your interactions with the app and ads (such as app launches and taps), and diagnostic information about app and ad performance. This data is shared with Google for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, and may be used to show you personalized ads. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads).

3. Third-Party Services

Our app integrates services provided by third parties. These services process data according to their own privacy policies:

News publishers’ websites that you open from the app are governed by their own privacy policies.

4. Data Retention and Security

  • Bookmarks, reading history and settings stay on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app. They are never stored on our servers.
  • Server request logs are kept by Cloudflare for up to 7 days.
  • Analytics data is managed by Google’s secure infrastructure and follows their retention policies.
  • Crash reporting data is kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
  • Ad-related data is managed by Google’s secure infrastructure and follows their retention policies.
  • All data sent between the app and our server, and to these Google services, is encrypted in transit.

Our server stores news articles only. It does not store accounts or personal profiles.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take necessary actions.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes are effective when posted on this page.
